Opposition leader Siddaramaiah said, "We are not opposed to the Bhagavad Gita, the Koran or the Bible."
"We believe in Hinduism, soft Hindutva, hard Hindutva. We see all religions as equal," Siddaramaiah said.
We believe in constitution and secularism. It is important for children to have a quality education, whether they teach the Bhagavad-Gita, the Qur'an and the Bible. We need to get a good education in line with today's competitive world. Bhagavad Gita said that it is not wrong to teach.
He said those who were upset about the Hijab verdict were condemned, but no one should oppose the judicial decision.
Reacting to a campaign that Muslims should not be allowed to trade in the place of Hindu religious programs, he said that no religion should be a communal religion. Everyone should be treated equally. There is no provision in the law for boycotting the trade of Muslims. Conduct against the law is not right. He said the government should take appropriate action.
